Uprite Services 1 of 5 checks
Managed IT and cybersecurity for Texas businesses, with offices in Houston, San Antonio and Dallas.
Uprite Services Overview
Uprite Services describes itself as a Texas-based managed IT and cybersecurity provider, founded in 1999, serving businesses across Houston, San Antonio and Dallas. Its about page names Stephen Sweeney as president and Pete Rullman as chief technology officer, along with a list of other managers. It says its clients are small and mid-sized businesses.
The company calls itself a HIPAA compliant organization and has a page for healthcare practices. Its case studies and industry pages also point to oil and gas, non-profits, construction, manufacturing, law firms and CPA firms.
What Uprite Services sells
The site lists managed and co-managed IT, a client help desk, cybersecurity, cloud services, managed phone service and vCIO services. It says every fully managed client is assigned a vCIO, and that each engagement starts with a technology assessment and a written roadmap.
The security pages list managed antivirus, email filtering, perimeter protection, security awareness training, phishing simulation, dark web monitoring, patch management and a 24/7 SOC service. The site also mentions CMMC and NIST 800-171 compliance work. On cloud, it calls itself an Azure and Microsoft 365 specialist and says it has performed hundreds of migrations.
The work it points to
The case study page lists unnamed clients by type, among them a Texas oil and gas company, a national conservation non-profit, a personal injury law firm, a women's shelter and two merging CPA firms. The site shows Google ratings of 4.8 from 61 reviews in Houston and 4.9 from 43 in San Antonio.
Its home page counters state 2227 users supported, 444 servers managed and a 5.06 minute average response time. We have not spoken to any of those clients.
How it says it charges
Uprite publishes starting prices per user per month. Fully Managed IT starts at $138, Remote Only IT Pro at $110 and Remote Only IT Essentials at $91. Co-Managed IT Partnership starts at $100 and MSSP Security Focus at $40. Licensing is extra, by its own worked example.
IT Essentials is for teams of less than 12 employees and is limited to 8 hours per user per month in business hours. The site says the first-year rate is locked in, that many clients choose annual agreements, and that a 120-day satisfaction promise lets an unsatisfied client out of the contract.
What its site does not tell you
On the 11 pages we read, the site names no staff certifications and does not say how many people work there. It calls itself award-winning, but the text we saved names no awards. The response time figure is an average, not a stated commitment, and contract length beyond the promise is not spelled out.
The site is more open on price than most, and the rest is worth asking about before you sign.

What those services mean, and what to ask
Ongoing responsibility for your systems for a recurring fee: monitoring, patching, support and planning. Ask exactly which devices, users and sites the fee covers, and what is billed on top.
What an MSP isThe provider works alongside your own IT staff, taking the monitoring, tooling, out-of-hours cover or projects they have no time for. It depends on a written line between what each team owns.
IT outsourcing modelsProtection, detection and response: endpoint software, email filtering, firewalls and someone watching the alerts. Many providers resell a specialist for monitoring, so ask who actually does the work and who calls you at night.
Cybersecurity basicsHosted or on-premises telephony carried over your data network. Voice is the first thing to suffer on a congested link, so ask how calls are prioritized.
What QoS isLicensing, administration, security settings and migration for cloud platforms. The platform keeps the service running; backing up your data in it and securing the accounts is still somebody's job, so ask whose.
Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365A named person who plans budgets, replacements and projects with you. Ask how often you meet and what the written roadmap contains.

Rules that come with those sectors
Naming a sector is not evidence that a provider meets its rules. These are the ones that commonly apply in the United States, and what to ask about each.
- Manufacturing
- Manufacturers in the defense supply chain are assessed under CMMC. If that is you, ask whether the provider has taken a client through it.
- Financial services
- Firms covered by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act must keep a written information security program. Ask what the provider contributes to it and what evidence it can give an examiner.
- Accounting
- Tax and accounting firms fall under the FTC Safeguards Rule, and the IRS expects a written information security plan. Ask how the provider supports yours.
- Healthcare
- A provider with access to patient data is a business associate under HIPAA. Ask for a signed business associate agreement before it touches your systems.
- Legal
- Lawyers have a professional duty to make reasonable efforts to protect client information, under ABA Model Rule 1.6 and its state versions. Ask how client files and email are secured.

Questions to Ask Uprite Services
Chosen from what this record shows and what it does not. The general list for any provider is in the IT buyer's guide.
- What exactly is included in the monthly fee, and what is billed separately: onboarding, projects, on-site visits?
- What are the response and resolution times by priority, and what happens when they are missed?
- Which certifications and partner tiers does the company hold? We have confirmed none with an issuer yet, so check each one in the issuer's own directory.
- Can you speak to two clients of your size who have been with the company for more than a year? We have not reached any of its clients.
- It names Manufacturing, Financial services, Accounting, Oil and gas, Engineering, Construction, Healthcare, Legal, Maritime and logistics and Nonprofit. If your sector is not among them, ask for a client in it.
- It names co-managed IT. If you have internal staff, ask where the line between the two teams sits, in writing.
- Backup is not among the services it puts first. Ask how your data is backed up, where, and when a restore was last tested.
- Who holds the administrator credentials and the documentation, and how are they handed over if you leave?

The overview. Written by us from 11 pages of the company's own website, each read in full on Sep 17, 2026. It reports what the site says and what it leaves out. It is not a review, and nothing in it has been verified beyond the five checks.
Note on the record. The site says since 1999, Clutch says founded 2008, and the Texas LLC was chartered 2017-05-06. No two agree, so no founded year is shown.
