Enstep Technology Solutions 2 of 5 checks
Managed IT, cybersecurity and cloud for Houston professional firms, with 24/7 threat monitoring.
Enstep Technology Solutions Overview
Enstep Technology Solutions is a Houston IT provider that says it was founded in 2001. Its team page names Brett Passmore as founder and Amy Passmore as CEO. It describes its clients as small to medium businesses in the Greater Houston and Austin areas.
Its menu lists five sectors: construction, CPA firms, engineering and manufacturing, legal services and professional service firms.
What Enstep Technology Solutions sells
The site splits its services in two. The managed side, which it labels MSP, covers user support, backup and disaster recovery, infrastructure upgrades, cloud services, security, monitoring, vendor management and mobile device management.
The strategic side, labeled TSP, covers a vCIO, risk mitigation, cybersecurity, technology lifecycle management, and a Written Information Security Plan service aimed at accounting firms and tax professionals. Cloud work centers on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, and it says it also manages AWS environments.
Some details are unusual. Enstep says it includes a Cisco Meraki firewall at every client site and keeps warm-spare units in its own depot, which also prepares and ships systems to remote workers. It describes a backup and continuity solution it built itself, and says it invests over $250,000 annually in research and development.
The work it points to
The case studies page names nine clients, among them Broad Reach Power, The Fields Co., Lone Star Overnight, Frankel Building Group, CMC Railroad, and Jenkins and Kamin Law.
A few carry figures. Enstep says it stabilized a network across 22 sites for Broad Reach Power, supported The Fields Co. as it grew from 40 to over 100 employees, and stepped in at LSO Services, with 180 employees across 12 locations, after its CIO left. We have not spoken to any of those clients.
How it says it charges
Enstep says each client gets a tailored plan with fixed-cost budgeting under one monthly fee, with some services included in every plan and others added. It publishes no prices.
The service pages carry a plain disclaimer. Only approved systems under contract and enrolled in its management tools are supported, personal devices are not, and its services "reduce risk but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or full security".
What its site does not tell you
On the 12 pages we read, the site states no prices and no response times. It says it works under a Service Level Agreement but gives none of its terms. It names no certifications and no contract lengths. It gives no headcount.
Office hours are given as Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, alongside 24/7 monitoring and a 24/7 help desk. How support works after hours is worth asking about, along with the rest.

Enstep Technology Solutions Services
What those services mean, and what to ask
Ongoing responsibility for your systems for a recurring fee: monitoring, patching, support and planning. Ask exactly which devices, users and sites the fee covers, and what is billed on top.
What an MSP isProtection, detection and response: endpoint software, email filtering, firewalls and someone watching the alerts. Many providers resell a specialist for monitoring, so ask who actually does the work and who calls you at night.
Cybersecurity basicsLicensing, administration, security settings and migration for cloud platforms. The platform keeps the service running; backing up your data in it and securing the accounts is still somebody's job, so ask whose.
Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365The number your staff call. Ask for the hours, the response time by priority, whether the people answering are the provider's own staff, and what an on-site visit costs.

Rules that come with those sectors
Naming a sector is not evidence that a provider meets its rules. These are the ones that commonly apply in the United States, and what to ask about each.
- CPA firms
- Tax and accounting firms fall under the FTC Safeguards Rule, and the IRS expects a written information security plan. Ask how the provider supports yours.
- Engineering and manufacturing
- Manufacturers in the defense supply chain are assessed under CMMC. If that is you, ask whether the provider has taken a client through it.
- Legal
- Lawyers have a professional duty to make reasonable efforts to protect client information, under ABA Model Rule 1.6 and its state versions. Ask how client files and email are secured.

The overview. Written by us from 12 pages of the company's own website, each read in full on Sep 17, 2026. It reports what the site says and what it leaves out. It is not a review, and nothing in it has been verified beyond the five checks.
Note on the record. The site and Clutch both say founded 2001; the Texas LLC was chartered 2010-12-08, possibly a later entity for an older business.
