Sagiss 2 of 5 checks
Managed IT, cloud and security for Dallas-area companies of 5 to 300 employees.
Sagiss Overview
Sagiss is a managed IT provider headquartered in Irving, in Las Colinas, serving Dallas and Fort Worth. Its site says Karl Springer and Jim Lancaster founded it in 1997 as MBD Network Services, a spin-off from a Dallas CPA firm. It is now a Texas LLC owned and operated by Karl Springer and Travis Springer.
It describes its clients as small and midsize businesses across North Texas. The home page states around 30 employees, all full-time, all background checked, with no contract or offshore labor.
What Sagiss sells
The site lists three service lines: IT support, managed security and managed cloud, each sold as fully managed or co-managed alongside an internal team. IT support covers a service desk, network monitoring, documentation, asset management and strategic guidance.
Managed security covers endpoint detection and response, patching, email security, identity hardening, firewalls and tested backups, with help documenting controls for cyber insurance.
The cloud pages center on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. Sagiss says it is a Microsoft Solutions Partner and a direct Cloud Solution Provider that buys licenses straight from Microsoft. It also sells consulting and vCIO services.
The work it points to
Sagiss says it has more than 60 clients, ranging from 5 to 300 employees, across over 100 locations nationwide.
Its case study page names clients, among them Mid America Pet Food, the law firm Harris, Finley & Bogle, the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Turner & Jacobs Construction, REI Energy and QuickFee. We have not spoken to any of those clients.
How it says it charges
The home page describes a hybrid model: a fixed fee for proactive services and hourly billing for reactive work. It argues there is no true "all you can eat" pricing. Contracts run an initial 12 months, then month-to-month. Onboarding costs a one-time fee "equal to one month's services".
The IT support page, by contrast, speaks of predictable flat-rate pricing with no hidden costs. The site says its liability is covered by a $1,000,000 errors and omissions policy. It publishes no prices.
What its site does not tell you
On the 7 pages we read, the site gives no fees or hourly rates and no response time targets. It says response depends on severity, with a service desk staffed Monday through Friday, 7am to 6pm CST, and phone support for urgent after-hours issues. The same page also advertises a 24/7 service desk.
It is more open about credentials than most. It names CyberVerify AAA certification, MSP Cloud Verify and SOC II Type 2 reports available on request, Microsoft Gold partnerships, and a CISSP held by Travis Springer. The reports and the billing split are worth asking about before you sign.

Sagiss Services
What those services mean, and what to ask
Ongoing responsibility for your systems for a recurring fee: monitoring, patching, support and planning. Ask exactly which devices, users and sites the fee covers, and what is billed on top.
What an MSP isLicensing, administration, security settings and migration for cloud platforms. The platform keeps the service running; backing up your data in it and securing the accounts is still somebody's job, so ask whose.
Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365Protection, detection and response: endpoint software, email filtering, firewalls and someone watching the alerts. Many providers resell a specialist for monitoring, so ask who actually does the work and who calls you at night.
Cybersecurity basicsThe number your staff call. Ask for the hours, the response time by priority, whether the people answering are the provider's own staff, and what an on-site visit costs.
Questions to ask an MSPA named person who plans budgets, replacements and projects with you. Ask how often you meet and what the written roadmap contains.
