What Mentis Group sells
The site offers two plans, fully managed IT and co-managed IT for companies with their own IT staff, plus standalone cybersecurity, managed cloud, VoIP and project services. It says every managed plan includes endpoint detection and response, multi-factor authentication, mobile device management, and security awareness training with phish testing.
Optional security add-ons listed include MDR for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, a 24/7/365 security operations center, SIEM, penetration testing and dark web credential monitoring. The cloud pages center on Microsoft Azure, including hosted Azure Virtual Desktop. Phone service is built on RingCentral and Microsoft Teams Phone.
The company puts weight on method. It describes a six-step operating model and says a CIO builds each client a 12 to 36 month roadmap. Its legal page names the practice software it supports, including ProLaw, Needles, Clio, iManage and NetDocuments.
The work it points to
Two case studies are named. One covers Fashion Glass and Mirror, a glass subcontractor with 17 servers, and the other covers Patriot Paws, a nonprofit that trains service dogs for veterans. Both describe the work done but give no measured results.
Testimonials come from the CIO of Fashion Glass and Mirror and the COO of Androvett Legal Media, who refers to a 14 year relationship. The home page also names customers at Ricochet Fuel Distributors and Value Vinyls. We have not spoken to any of those clients.
How it says it charges
It publishes no prices. The site describes plans, not rates, and states no billing unit or contract length. A 2020 blog post on the site says Mentis finds most organizations with 20 to 100 users suit fully managed IT, and recommends co-managed service once a client passes 100 users.
What its site does not tell you
On the 10 pages we read, the site states no prices, no response time targets, no contract terms and no headcount, and it names no executives. It promises 24 x 7 rapid response support for law firms without a figure. Apart from a RingCentral IGNITE partner label on the VoIP page, no certifications are named.
None of that is unusual for a provider's website, and all of it is worth asking about before you sign.
