The Fulcrum Group Overview

Founded2002

The Fulcrum Group is a managed IT provider based in Keller that serves the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Its site says it started in 2002 and describes the company as Texas-owned, with support that is "100% employee-staffed" rather than outsourced. The pages we read do not name an owner or any staff.

It says it serves small and mid-size businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, water districts, manufacturers, healthcare organizations and professional services firms, and that it works best with organizations between 20 and 150 employees.

What The Fulcrum Group sells

Its main product is a managed IT agreement it brands as SPOT Managed IT. The site says this includes service desk support, endpoint management, 24/7 monitoring, fractional CIO strategy, lifecycle planning and quarterly technology roadmaps. It names its reporting layer STARLight and its review process STARPower, with Quarterly Success Reviews for leadership.

Security is sold as SPOT Shield bundles: one for small businesses, one for compliance and local government including CJIS, and one for organizations with internal IT teams. The bundle pages name the tools, among them Duo for multi-factor authentication, Datto for Microsoft 365 backup and Keeper for passwords. It also lists managed detection and response and penetration testing.

Beyond that it sells VoIP, including the Switchvox system, cloud work centered on Azure migrations, and consulting on Microsoft Copilot and AI governance. Its public sector focus is unusual for this directory. The site footer lists a Texas DIR contract, an NCTCOG contract for artificial intelligence and State of Texas HUB certification.

How it says it charges

The site describes flat-rate IT and managed services in custom service packages, and says cloud projects can be scoped as a flat-rate project. The bundle for IT teams includes up to 4 hours per month of platform support, with additional hours billed at an hourly rate it does not state. It publishes no prices.

It advertises a satisfaction guarantee and says that if it cannot make the work right, the service is free.

What its site does not tell you

On the 12 pages we read, the site gives no prices or contract terms and does not say how many people work there. It says it keeps a CISSP on staff but names no other staff certifications.

Its response claims vary by page. One says it responds within 5 minutes or less, another guarantees emergency response in one hour or less.

The home page mentions awards and live client survey feedback, but neither appears in the text we saved, and the site shows no case studies or named clients. None of that is unusual, and all of it is worth asking about before you sign.

What those services mean, and what to ask

Managed ITThe Fulcrum Group lists: Managed IT

Ongoing responsibility for your systems for a recurring fee: monitoring, patching, support and planning. Ask exactly which devices, users and sites the fee covers, and what is billed on top.

What an MSP is
CybersecurityThe Fulcrum Group lists: Managed cybersecurity

Protection, detection and response: endpoint software, email filtering, firewalls and someone watching the alerts. Many providers resell a specialist for monitoring, so ask who actually does the work and who calls you at night.

Cybersecurity basics
Cloud and Microsoft 365The Fulcrum Group lists: Cloud

Licensing, administration, security settings and migration for cloud platforms. The platform keeps the service running; backing up your data in it and securing the accounts is still somebody's job, so ask whose.

Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365
VoIP and phone systemsThe Fulcrum Group lists: VoIP

Hosted or on-premises telephony carried over your data network. Voice is the first thing to suffer on a congested link, so ask how calls are prioritized.

What QoS is
vCIO and IT planningThe Fulcrum Group lists: Fractional CIO

A named person who plans budgets, replacements and projects with you. Ask how often you meet and what the written roadmap contains.

Rules that come with those sectors

Naming a sector is not evidence that a provider meets its rules. These are the ones that commonly apply in the United States, and what to ask about each.

Local government
Public bodies that handle criminal justice information fall under the FBI CJIS Security Policy. Ask whether the provider's staff have been through the required screening.
Manufacturing
Manufacturers in the defense supply chain are assessed under CMMC. If that is you, ask whether the provider has taken a client through it.
Healthcare
A provider with access to patient data is a business associate under HIPAA. Ask for a signed business associate agreement before it touches your systems.

Where This Record Comes From

The overview. Written by us from 12 pages of the company's own website, each read in full on Sep 17, 2026. It reports what the site says and what it leaves out. It is not a review, and nothing in it has been verified beyond the five checks.

Note on the record. The company's origin story and the charter both put the start in 2002, and the Fort Worth Chamber describes a 24-year history. A Clutch profile under a similar name belongs to an unrelated Seattle company and is not used.
