Managed IT, virtual desktops and hosted cloud, with security and compliance, from West Lake Hills.
Whitehat Virtual Technologies Overview
Whitehat Virtual Technologies describes itself as a specialist IT organization headquartered in Austin that serves organizations across the United States. Its about page names Val King as president and CEO, with Gogi Reddy and Abhijit Dhar as vice presidents. The pages we read give no founding year, though the legal page claims 12+ years.
The site lists a long run of sectors, among them healthcare, finance, banking, manufacturing, retail, insurance, education, architecture and engineering.
What Whitehat Virtual Technologies sells
Its specialty is virtual desktops, which sets it apart from most companies in this directory. The site offers Citrix and VMware projects, management and what it calls rescue, plus managed or co-managed VDI. It says it integrates NVIDIA GPU hardware for graphics-heavy users such as architects and engineers.
It also sells a product of its own, Titanium HCI virtual desktop appliances, described as "Essentially virtual desktops in a box." Beyond that it lists consulting and managed IT for organizations with private networks, and managed cloud and hosting from data centers it describes as SSAE 16, SOC 2 and PCI DSS certified.
The security pages list SIEM, network and host-based intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning and web filtering. A compliance portal is said to automate work against frameworks including CMMC 2.0, ISO 27001 and SOC 2. For law firms it markets a method it calls the 1850 Framework.
The work it points to
The site quotes the CFO of Security State Bank and Trust and the practice administrator of Central Texas Pediatric Orthopedics. An unnamed regional healthcare system is quoted saying Whitehat saved it over $360,000 annually over three years. A case study describes a 9-year partnership with an unnamed law firm of 175+ attorneys.
The legal page claims 250+ active clients across 34 states and 77 countries. The about page gives 30 minute ticket resolution and a 17 second average Citrix login. We have not spoken to any of those clients.
How it says it charges
It publishes no prices. The menu has a pricing request link, and the legal page has a calculator that estimates a firm's losses, not Whitehat's fees. The site advertises a "Sub-30 Second Login Guarantee" and says results and end-user experience are guaranteed.
What its site does not tell you
On the 12 pages we read, the site gives no prices, no contract terms and no terms for any of its guarantees. It mentions Citrix-certified engineers but does not say how many people work there. Its home page cites a top 100 MSP ranking without naming the list or year.
None of that is unusual for a provider's website, and all of it is worth asking about before you sign.

Whitehat Virtual Technologies Services
What those services mean, and what to ask
Ongoing responsibility for your systems for a recurring fee: monitoring, patching, support and planning. Ask exactly which devices, users and sites the fee covers, and what is billed on top.
What an MSP isLicensing, administration, security settings and migration for cloud platforms. The platform keeps the service running; backing up your data in it and securing the accounts is still somebody's job, so ask whose.
Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365Protection, detection and response: endpoint software, email filtering, firewalls and someone watching the alerts. Many providers resell a specialist for monitoring, so ask who actually does the work and who calls you at night.

Rules that come with those sectors
Naming a sector is not evidence that a provider meets its rules. These are the ones that commonly apply in the United States, and what to ask about each.
- Finance
- Firms covered by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act must keep a written information security program. Ask what the provider contributes to it and what evidence it can give an examiner.
- Healthcare
- A provider with access to patient data is a business associate under HIPAA. Ask for a signed business associate agreement before it touches your systems.
- Legal
- Lawyers have a professional duty to make reasonable efforts to protect client information, under ABA Model Rule 1.6 and its state versions. Ask how client files and email are secured.
- Manufacturing
- Manufacturers in the defense supply chain are assessed under CMMC. If that is you, ask whether the provider has taken a client through it.
- Retail
- Anyone taking card payments has to meet PCI DSS. Ask which parts of the card environment the provider would manage.
