Excellent Networks 2 of 5 checks
Managed IT, security, cloud and phones for El Paso clinics, law firms and small businesses.
Excellent Networks Overview
Excellent Networks is a managed IT and cybersecurity company in El Paso. Its site says Mark Luna founded it in 2007 and explains the name: clients whose problems he fixed would say "That's Excellent!". It says it serves El Paso and Las Cruces and supports over 100 clients.
The sectors it names are healthcare, dental offices, law firms, accounting, transportation, engineering, construction and manufacturing, along with small and medium businesses in general.
What Excellent Networks sells
The services page lists managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud services, IT consulting and VoIP phone systems. Two items are less common for an MSP: website development and domain registration.
The cybersecurity page describes 24/7 threat detection and response, managed firewalls and VPN, SIEM log monitoring, security awareness training with phishing tests, and audits of vendors and cloud platforms. It says it has helped clients in healthcare, finance and legal with HIPAA or PCI requirements, and that it can work alongside an existing IT team.
Cloud work covers storage, backup and recovery, virtual desktops, and management of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. The site says it provides both on-site and remote support, and mentions cabling projects among its on-site work.
The work it points to
The case studies page names five clients: Davis Dental, Lee & Beulah Moor Children's Home, Western Precast, High Desert and PHIX. It says it saved Western Precast $20,000 on a server migration. It says that after a fire and flood at High Desert it responded within minutes and had the practice running by morning.
The site also claims more five-star Google reviews than any other IT company in El Paso, and carries client testimonials, one from a client of 11 years. One testimonial on the services page praises something called "Infinity Estate" rather than Excellent Networks, with no explanation. We have not spoken to any of those clients.
How it says it charges
It publishes no prices. The industries page lists fixed monthly IT planning among its small business services, and the about page promises no upselling. The process it describes is a consultation, then a custom plan with a clear breakdown that the client approves. It advertises a free IT assessment.
What its site does not tell you
On the 12 pages we read, the site puts no figure on response time. It says most issues are resolved on the same day and that clients can reach it anytime. It names no certifications, does not say how many people work there, and gives no contract terms.
None of that is unusual for a small provider's website, and all of it is worth asking about before you sign.

Excellent Networks Services
What those services mean, and what to ask
Ongoing responsibility for your systems for a recurring fee: monitoring, patching, support and planning. Ask exactly which devices, users and sites the fee covers, and what is billed on top.
What an MSP isProtection, detection and response: endpoint software, email filtering, firewalls and someone watching the alerts. Many providers resell a specialist for monitoring, so ask who actually does the work and who calls you at night.
Cybersecurity basicsLicensing, administration, security settings and migration for cloud platforms. The platform keeps the service running; backing up your data in it and securing the accounts is still somebody's job, so ask whose.
Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365Hosted or on-premises telephony carried over your data network. Voice is the first thing to suffer on a congested link, so ask how calls are prioritized.
What QoS isA named person who plans budgets, replacements and projects with you. Ask how often you meet and what the written roadmap contains.

Rules that come with those sectors
Naming a sector is not evidence that a provider meets its rules. These are the ones that commonly apply in the United States, and what to ask about each.
- Healthcare
- A provider with access to patient data is a business associate under HIPAA. Ask for a signed business associate agreement before it touches your systems.
- Legal
- Lawyers have a professional duty to make reasonable efforts to protect client information, under ABA Model Rule 1.6 and its state versions. Ask how client files and email are secured.
- Accounting
- Tax and accounting firms fall under the FTC Safeguards Rule, and the IRS expects a written information security plan. Ask how the provider supports yours.
