Lean On Me I.T. Overview

Founded2021

Lean On Me I.T. is a managed IT provider that says it is headquartered in Texas and supports businesses across the United States, with most of its presence in Central and North Texas. Its site names Eric Petty as founder and CEO and says he set out to build the company in 2020.

The site lists Waco, Dallas, Temple, Killeen and Fort Worth as the areas it serves. The industries it names are accounting and CPA firms, legal and professional services, construction and trades, and small businesses in general.

What Lean On Me I.T. sells

The services page sorts the work under three headings, Operate, Protect and Evolve. Under them sit network design and management, IT support, cybersecurity, endpoint security, email security, backup and disaster recovery, Microsoft 365 consulting and VoIP phone systems. The home page also describes a co-managed model for companies that keep an internal IT team.

It names its tools more openly than most providers do. The home page lists SentinelOne EDR monitored by a 24/7 SOC, Jamf for managing iOS devices, RingCentral for phone service, and Splashtop and 1Password licensing. The email security page describes filtering, DMARC, SPF and DKIM setup, and phishing simulations for staff.

The backup page describes off-site backups, written disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and testing through simulations and tabletop exercises. It says the service includes recovery time and recovery point objectives, but it gives no figures for either.

The work it points to

The site has no case studies. Its service pages repeat a set of testimonials, each signed with a person's name but no company. One describes tablets enrolled through Apple Business Manager after the client's own calls to Apple went nowhere. Another describes a Microsoft Office fault and says "Within two hours they fixed the problem".

We have not spoken to any of those clients.

How it says it charges

Lean On Me I.T. says it bills managed services as a flat monthly fee, and its small business page mentions "flat-fee support contract pricing". One testimonial shows it also took a one-time project. It publishes no prices.

What its site does not tell you

On the 12 pages we read, the site states no prices, no response times and no contract length. It does not say how many people work there, though the about page profiles the founder and several staff. The only certification named is CompTIA Security+, which it says two staff members hold. No company-level certifications appear.

None of that is unusual for a small provider's website, and all of it is worth asking about before you sign.

Rules that come with those sectors

Naming a sector is not evidence that a provider meets its rules. These are the ones that commonly apply in the United States, and what to ask about each.

Accounting
Tax and accounting firms fall under the FTC Safeguards Rule, and the IRS expects a written information security plan. Ask how the provider supports yours.
Legal
Lawyers have a professional duty to make reasonable efforts to protect client information, under ABA Model Rule 1.6 and its state versions. Ask how client files and email are secured.
